![]() ![]() This series is fun – each book has plenty of action, well written fight scenes, a well moving plot and dialogue which carries the scenes well – but it doesn’t have any depth. When finishing the first book of this series, I thought to myself “Susan Ee is going to have to do something really original here to push it above average” and while I kept waiting for that something I don’t think I ever really got it (Although, it does pose many similarities to the Supernatural show) I DON’T want to suggest this series is a Hunger Games/Supernatural mash up, it’s not. ![]() Angels coming to Earth to royally fuck up humans? Supernatural Saving your sister from an impossible situation? Hunger Games. Dystopian and apocalypse are well versed genres and I think it takes something really special to seem original in this genre. This series has a really familiar premise. Fun, but falls into the trap of being generic Accompanied by a wounded angel she’s taken hostage, Penryn will travel across San Francisco to find and save her sister. Penryn Young, a 17 year old girl must save her sister from the clutches of invading Angels, who’ve come to Earth and started the biblical apocalypse.
